Vintage Oiling TM

Over many years of restoring dry wood parts products I have developed a method to reinvigorate dry wood. We have remediated many types of dry wood such as necks, bodies, fingerboards and even arch-top bridges by returning dry wood srufaces to their original moisture content that has been lost due to overly dry conditions.

Almost any type of wood product including hemp wood, can be restored with this process of soaking in a specialized furniture grade oil. It prevents fret sprout and drying and cracking. It reverts the wood back to its original state including the grain streaking™ of the wood itself because it has undergone this vintage oiling process.

We only have about 2% of our North American hardwood left. The rest of the wood comes from all over the world but often is not as good as our hardwood. This oiling process allows us to not only make things look better but helps save our forests. When any wood product is emersed in this process it is in statis which means that the actual wood will take in the oil naturally as it would be in the tree and it becomes inert-stays in the natural state for years.

Below are samples of guitar necks rejuvenated with this unique special trade marked process only available at Wild Dutch’s Guitar Hospital.
